Hope starts here
A brighter future for young people in Albany and the Great Southern
Safe spaces, equal access to health and education services, and community support for 12-25 year olds.
Youth Great Southern believes all young people should have access to education, healthcare, housing, food security, and social support.
Awareness
We speak openly about how hard it can be for young people—especially those facing disadvantage.
Support
Training, support, and social behaviour initiatives help young people find their place in society.
Partnerships
We collaborate with local service providers to create a strong support network for all young people.
For now, for the future
The Great Southern is a beautiful place to grow up.
But living regionally also has disadvantages—particularly for young people. There are fewer educational opportunities. Fewer job prospects. Less access to healthcare and social services. Smaller peer networks and greater fear of stigma around seeking help.
For young people facing poverty, homelessness, family violence, physical and mental health challenges, the disadvantages can feel overwhelming.
Since 2022, Youth Great Southern has partnered with local service providers and community groups to improve outcomes for disadvantaged and at-risk young people.
A safe space
Together with Albany Youth Support Association, we’ve made a certified Youth Worker available at the Youth Centre on Sanford Road. A warm and supportive environment, it’s the perfect place for young people to connect to the services, people, and opportunities they need to thrive.
A strong foundation
We’re here for the long haul. And we’re keen to form partnerships that help Great Southern young people find a way out of disadvantage.
If you’ve got a project in mind, or would like to explore how we can work together,
